About Me
Dorie Boyles planned to be a teacher since she was a small child. She spent many days of her childhood playing teacher with her friends. She started babysitting as a young teen and volunteered at schools and other organizations throughout college and beyond. She initially received her Bachelor's Degree in Communications from the University of Washington, then returned a few years later to complete her degree in Education and receive her Teacher Certification.
Soon after receiving her Teacher Certification, she got married and was promoted to Mom with two bonus daughters and the birth of her first daughter after that, so teaching outside the home was put on hold. Over the next 5 years, she had 2 more children and then started subbing in the public schools.
One last daughter put that on hold again, so Dorie opened an in-home daycare. She owned and operated a full-time in-home daycare for 6 years, where she could still be home with her children while using her teaching skills. After her youngest started Kindergarten, Dorie again started subbing in the public schools until schools shut down in 2020.
Her youngest 3 children did online school for 1 year, then two of them started attending The Academy of Snohomish. A month after school started in 2021, Dorie joined TAS as a Teacher in the 6th to 8th grade class. She taught in that class for 2 years and is now in her second year as a high school teacher.
About Our Extension Program
At Evergreen Christian Academy, we believe that parents are the first and primary teachers of their children, and that this privilege does not change just because the children grow into their school-aged years. This is why we place such a strong emphasis on parental involvement, and why we intentionally shorten our instructional schedule to protect more time at home for family life and parent-led learning.

Testimonies
Dorie is incredible and I’m so glad she’s a part of Academy Northwest. Our son has been lucky enough to have her for both 9th and 10th grades. She’s very experienced and I’ve personally seen her dedication to make a difference with all her students. Great Communicator, Friendly but still willing to hold her ground when our son tries to take shortcuts. Dorie also can also think outside the box when explaining difficult concepts, especially math and science. We can’t say enough nice things about Dorie…. Don & Susan H.
The first thing my son says he likes about his teacher, Dorie Boyles, is her amazing, infectious energy—and I completely agree. She leads with enthusiasm and grace, and she always makes every student feel included and supported. Dorie has taught my son in multiple grades, and her knowledge, care, and willingness to help are truly appreciated. We are so fortunate to have her.

Our Class Offerings
kindergarten - 5th grade
Our K–5 program is designed to build a strong academic foundation during the most formative learning years. We focus on the essentials, including strong literacy, phonics, writing, and math mastery, while also supporting students as they grow in responsibility, confidence, and character. Instruction is structured, engaging, and intentionally paced to help students truly understand what they are learning.
Because enrollment varies from year to year, some grade levels may be combined depending on class size. A smaller grade may be paired with the grade above or below in order to maintain healthy class sizes and a sustainable staffing model. In combined classrooms, students are still taught at their individual level, with targeted small-group instruction and differentiated assignments, especially in reading and math.
6th-12th grade
Our 6–12 program is designed to provide strong, high-level academics while guiding students through the critical transition from childhood into capable young adulthood. As students grow, our focus expands beyond mastering core subjects and into developing the skills that matter most for life after graduation, including critical thinking, clear communication, responsibility, and independent reasoning.
Grades 6–12 are taught in a grouped classroom model. Students complete coursework at their individual academic level, with instructor oversight, accountability, and guidance. As Evergreen Christian Academy grows, our goal is to increase the amount of direct instruction in the upper grades and expand staffing over time to support students as they progress.
Our goal is to graduate students who are academically prepared, spiritually grounded, and personally equipped to contribute meaningfully to their communities. Whether students pursue a college pathway, vocational training, entrepreneurship, or other post-graduation goals, we aim to develop young adults who are capable, thoughtful, and ready to lead with wisdom and integrity.
